PUGET SOUND SAILING is continuing to provide incredible sailing experiences with
the opportunity to take part in this 100 nautical mile ocean race. This package gathers
experiences for both the sailor committed to an offshore passage and the sailor who is
ready to experience more excitement. If the picture on the front cover of our brochure

INSTRUCTOR:
Michael Rice, veteran of seven Pacific crossings, Coast Guard and ASA Certified
Instructor through Offshore Passagemaking and owner of Puget Sound Sailing. Mike has
sailed over 80,000 nautical miles. He is also the unprecedented winner of the ASA
Instructor of the Year six times (1997, 2000, 2001, 2002, 2004 and again in 2005)! Join
Mike on a trip you won't forget!

PACKAGE INCLUDES:
The Swiftsure Race course travels 100 nautical miles from Victoria B.C. to Cape Flattery
and back. Enjoy these further benefits:
1) Spinnaker Handling class in Tacoma or Seattle (prior to race). Call our office for dates
and times
2) Friday, May 28 - training sail to Victoria, B.C. Get familiar with the boat, hoist/jibe
spinnakers, etc.
3) Saturday, Sunday, May 29-30 - The Race!
4) Monday, May 31 - sail home
Pre-requisites are required: ASA Certification in Basic Keelboat, Basic Coastal Cruising,
and Bareboat Chartering.
